Since these are photos of wild birds and butterflies, none of them were planned. Or posed. So each of them was a gift. Each of them was a surprise. Of course, I did go out 175 times seeking them. And from experience I knew where to wait (sometimes for hours). Yet that's how life works. We begin by showing up. Then we do our best. And as a result, we achieve something we admire.
