This “free” day was the brainchild of Helena, the superintendent of Paul Pogue School of Hairdressing and founder of the “free services to the needy program” in our school. It was her quest to bring this world of injustice and the shameless neglect of the homeless and needy one head closer to being a little more just. One look at Helena was enough to identify her as the originator of this type of education. This is the story of one woman's fight against discrimination towards the homeless and needy by offering hair care and grooming services FREE of charge to all in need. Only to be bashed down by government regulations and the uncaring.
