The early Anglo-Saxon Kings made a unique, and indelible mark of the progressive history of the English Isle Theirs was by no means a perfect world and constant warfare is the mark of the age. However, there were periods of development noted such as the development of King Offa's Dyke and in some instances making sure that all attend the government assembly that is a requirement by some kings. Nonetheless, it is also a very brutal era. This period of history echoes with murders, plots, beheadings, blindings and amputation of arms and the legs of soldiers. The cruel message is clear that whoever rebels will feel the swift consequences of the sword. The era stretches from the reign of the Anglo-Saxon King Offa until the Norman Invasion of England. It is also the story of intermarriage of royal couple some of whose descendants travel to America.
