Is a New Year's kiss different from any other kiss?
Edward Livingston, an eligible bachelor, admires the ladies at balls and parties-from afar. After being snubbed at age 17, he is convinced that a woman's touch will do nothing for him.
But during the first ball of the new year, when he tires of the party and seeks an empty, dark room for a long nap, a mysterious young woman greets and kisses him in the dark, thinking he is her beau. She soon realizes her error and flees from the room, but Edward's heart is now awake and pounding in a way it never has been before. He must find the lady again, though he does not know her name or even her face. And he must do it tonight. To find her identity, Edward must set aside his anxiety to dance with the ladies. Even if it means risking his heart.
