Miss Lori Schneider is a third-grade teacher in Phoenix, Arizona, and leads about as simple of life as most third-grade teachers. She was born and raised in Phoenix, went to college in Phoenix, and is living a peaceful life in Phoenix. Devon Singleton is not a third-grade teacher. He is a financial genius who lives a lifestyle that might be dreamed about by millions, but not a third-grade teacher. Through some urging by Lori, they meet quite innocently and find a strong attraction to each other. He changes his business plans to stay in Phoenix longer than originally planned so he can get to know her better. He does and they are married in slightly over a month and move to Atlanta where she finds out that their relationship is based on a huge lie. Then things get incredibly messed up to the point she must lie to her parents and her best friend. Even her life is threatened.
