Abby goes on a weekend getaway with her boyfriend Lucas to visit his friend who breeds and sells horses as a hobby. She's soon becoming a real horsewoman. After all, she didn't fall off the animal more than once. Maybe she won't break a bone this time. When Abby attends a horse auction, a whole new world is opens up to her. She might get through the weekend without trouble finding her. Then her host gets into a heated argument with someone he calls a "killer buyer," and Dan threatens the man's life. The next time Abby sees this man, he's dead on Dan's library floor. To save Dan from going to jail, Abby must solve the mystery. Unfortunately, she's not sure Dan is innocent. He's so angry and secretive, and he won't talk to the police or to his friends. Lucas demands Abby stay out of it, but she can't accept the hurt she sees in Lucas at his best friend's rejection.
