The brain blooms when parents and multi-generational families engage, learn, and teach one another. True education is relational. The sky is limited to the earth's atmosphere, but the human mind processes like a computer while having the ability to control a body that can do all sorts of amazing feats. The brain has several parts: the frontal lobe, parietal lobe, occipital lobe, temporal lobe, and brain stem. Each portion of the brain controls various functions for controlling thought, body movement, emotions, and bodily systems. In this curriculum, The author targeted 12 significant functions that the brain controls which parents and educators must focus on to ensure successful early childhood development and the likelihood of future success and fulfillment. A parent must provide equal attention to the dozen facets of the learner's brain: The Vocal Brain, The Literacy Brain, The Writing Brain, The Artistic Brain, The Managerial Brain, The Emotionally Intelligent Brain, The Inquisitive Brain, The Critical Brain, The Diagnostic Brain, The Innovative Brain, The Strategic Brain, and The Athletic Brain. A well-balanced child becomes a well-balanced adult if, and only if, he/she builds all of these brains without neglecting one area. The author, Ms. English, firmly believes that all students have the potential to be proficient when given the opportunity and resources to succeed. When parents and educators provide the opportunity and resources, literacy blooms. As a committed Family Engagement Specialist, Ms. English dedicated her life to helping parents and families ensure the success of their children. She is a founding member of the National Association of Family School and Community Engagement (NAFSCE). Ms. English is a Certified Reading Specialist, holds a M. ED. from National Louis University-Evanston, Illinois, and Literacy Mentor for the National Head Start Association (NHSA). As the founder of Literacy Blooms, she remains determined to help parents and families to create brainiacs through play and learning.
