These letters are written as though from a mentor to a pupil, and that pupil being a guardian angel over a human. They offer a glimpse of what Christianity looks like in the civilized world. People are lovers of money, lovers of themselves, and have a form a godliness. Much can be learned from them.
I offer rebuke and lament. "Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance". I plead with you to read these words as though they were written by a pastor of great renown, and yet to test these words as though they were written by an equal. Whatever wisdom is in this book, if indeed there is any, is from above and not myself. Likewise whatever foolishness is in this book, if indeed there is any, is from myself and not from above. I pray that all may think and that all may understand. It is said that the prayer of a righteous person is powerful, and although I am not righteous, does that make my prayer weak?
