"Emma? Emma who?"
Everyone spent June celebrating high school graduation. Nelly went on the most epic surf trip to South Africa (as epic as a surf trip can be for a mermaid). Emma saw visions and helped the dead with their unfinished work all while eating delicious food and visiting historical sites around Europe with her aunt and grandmother.
It's finally July, and everyone is coming home–everyone, that is, except our resident witch, Nikki, who never left and celebrated graduation by going to Home Depot and painting her room (bluish green).
Eager to meet up and chat about her friends' adventures, as well as the last email Emma sent from Europe about an ominous vision she had, Nikki calls Emma, only to find that the number cannot be completed as dialed. Panicking, Nikki calls Nelly and asks if she's heard from Emma, but Nelly has no idea who Emma is.
Neither does anyone else.
In An Obscured Glass, sequel to A Change of Tide, Nikki must figure out not only why everyone forgot her best friend and how to get them to remember her again, but also where Emma even is and, perhaps most importantly, what was coming for them in the vision Emma had before she went missing.
