500 years have passed since the end of the Great War, which ravaged nations and left behind only a quarter of the world's population. With the war's end a gruesome tournament was born, in the hopes it might satiate the world's bloodlust and prevent future conflict from erupting. Centuries later, the veil of peace thins, and the tournament controls society in ways no one could have anticipated.
