Bat the Bat with a Bat is an illustrated children's book. It is based on word conversions (or zero-derivatives) that allows a child to see how one word can serve as two different parts of speech. For example, "bat" can be both an action word (verb) and an object (noun).
Bat the Bat with a Bat targets 3 reading levels of children: 1) a non-reader who has fun finding the mystery bear in every mini-story; 2) a young reader who is capable of reading the short heading that introduces the word conversion for each mini-story; and 3) the advanced reader who will enjoy the alliteration and occasional tongue twister of each mini-story.
Children are inspired to create their own mini-stories with word conversions and alliteration.
