Being a warrior is what all boys in the North-lands hoped to become when they reached manhood. For some it was a gradual progression and for others it was predestined as if Odin the All Father selected these few to live through pain and anguish so that they could become men and warriors of myth and legend. Then there were the even fewer in number that he selected to become his cherished Berserkers, these boys know no joy in life and from the earliest of years they come to know death like an old friend. The few that are allowed to know love have it stripped away at its height. Some say this is what makes the very best warriors and Berserkers because when pushed to this level of pain and loss, all humanity is stripped and the true soul of the Berserker is released on the world. Bjorn Haldorsson was such a boy born of noble blood, his family killed by an evil warlord, taken as a slave, and earning his freedom by killing the one who killed his family. Every turn of the world continued to lead him to loss and battle at which he excelled.
