Emery Aalokin is desperate to find a cure for the Withering, and to finally learn what happened to her missing parents. She doesn't know where to start looking for a cure, but when a lead points her towards a treasure that could contain not only riches, but the information she's searching for about her parents, she enlists the help of Captain Sean Denzel - AKA the Scourge of the Sea - promising him and his crew the treasure if they find it. Sean agrees to help but Emery can tell he's keeping secrets. But she's keeping secrets too, and she isn't sure spilling them is worth risking both of their lives, especially when she can no longer deny the growing spark between them.
