This book, BEYOND BORDERS: The Coalescence of Prose and Poetry is another compilation of creative writing pieces in which the primary purpose is to introduce to the young readers an approach to the writing of 21st Century Literature where usual and ordinary life situations are reflected on the pages. The coalescence of prose and poetry that the authors ventured to present in this book is deemed to provide a range of subjects where literature could be seen as a vehicle for the introduction of the use of vernacular language and the reintroduction of local color in short stories and unique rhyme schemes in poetry. Through these lenses, it could be viewed that the authors wrote each piece of short story in the greatest extent of liberty in literary writing as they put on paper the daily spoken language rather than the formal language alongside the use of recognizable locale that adds vividness to the local color.
