Emily and Mark work side by side in the quaint bookshop in Cider Mill Valley - the same small town where she grew up. When her ex-boyfriend Leon blows into town for work, she frantically proclaims Mark as her new boyfriend. It's an impulsive move, but once it's said, it's done. Trouble is, Mark has had a thing for Emily ever since he moved to town, and it's really hard for him to keep their relationship "fake."
Even sleeping together doesn't seem to foul the waters, and Emily starts to think of Mark as more than just a friend. It all comes to a head at the Fall Festival, and everyone lands on their feet. Except for Leon, of course.
