Finding out you are being attacked by witchcraft can be frightening and disturbing in many ways. It may make you feel victimized, or it may make you feel confused, because you don't understand why you would be attacked in this way. I think it is important to understand what witchcraft is, and why people do it, before you can learn how to protect yourself from it. The devil uses witchcraft because it a sneaky and underhanded way to weaken us, cause us harm, or manipulate us. We do not know the facts about witchcraft, and we cannot physically see it, so it is easy to mistake it for many other things. Witchcraft can look like illness, pain from an injury, deep emotion, relationship problems, miscommunication, and many other everyday problems we have. We don't suspect interference of the devil in these common things. Yet that's exactly what is happening. Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4 Many people who do witchcraft do not even realize they are doing it. They are attacking us but don't really realize the full extent of the power behind what they are doing. Of course, there are people who are trained in witchcraft and practice it intentionally, but there are many more who practice it in complete ignorance. Therefore, learning forgiveness and compassion are big steps to overcome witchcraft.
