The humanities and social sciences are facing major challenges in the face of the rapid expansion of science and technology. The acceleration of technical innovation has widened the gap between these disciplines, leading some researchers to speak of an implicit crisis. However, initiatives are emerging to integrate the human sciences into the knowledge society, notably through the emerging field of digital humanities. By combining digital methods and tools, this discipline offers new perspectives for the analysis and understanding of human phenomena.
