Dr. Bohlman grew up in rural Oklahoma and graduated from the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine in 1974. After training in Saginaw, Michigan he spent 10 years providing full service Family Medicine in rural parts of Oklahoma, Montana, and New Mexico. In 1985 he moved to the Boston area where he became involved in Family Medicine education and served as Associate Program Director at Tufts University Family Medicine residency program. He joined the faculty at the University of Tennessee and later served as Medical Director for FedEx employee clinics at their headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee. He has been the recipient of numerous awards for teaching at the University of Tennessee and was named Physician of the Year by the Massachusetts Academy of Family Medicine in 2006. In retirement in Huntsville, Alabama, he continues to teach at Crestwood Hospital Family Medicine Residency program where he is a tireless advocate for Family Medicine and the patient centered medical home.
