"Since I was introduced to the world as an up-and-coming talent by the Herald Mail in 2004, I have been vainly pontificating on all things politics, current events, and philosophy. This retrospective anthology covers the first 15 years: highlights from my columns, essays, aphorisms, and interviews -- prior to a decisive turn away from my youthful outlook as a libertarian-minded Republican, atheist, and individualist, and toward Christianity and a more progressive perspective.Nonetheless, I don't think my thought was ever easy to classify. I got a lot of things right and a lot of things wrong over the years, too: I identified Donald Trump as the new avatar of the GOP base back in 2012. I identified the alt-right as an emerging threat to democracy back in 2010. I called out false media narratives on the so-called anti-incumbency wave of 2010, which was really an anti-moderate wave. In 2014 I warned my fellow capitalists that the income inequality issue was not going to disappear.I also, as a teenage Republican, predicted that the Iraq War would be part of a wave of democratic uprising in the Middle East that would see George W. Bush become known as the greatest president of modern times. Can't win 'em all.As a retrospective, this anthology aims to present my personal history as it happened, 'warts and all'. Even when it infuriates, I can guarantee that it will provoke, stimulate, and fascinate.
