Built on a foundation of fun and fantasy, these books are educational and the story lines have resulted in very positive feedback from teachers, librarians and media specialists, as well as parents. The stories expose young readers to bits and pieces of geography, geology, history and ecology...all presented in a format which is appropriate for the targeted age group. They are designed to pique the child's interest.
Each book in the series completes a story of two young brothers who travel with a duo of very unique and special companions through adventure after adventure. From time to time, it occurs to the boys that they are learning, but most of all, having fun with wonderful, magical friends who have hand-picked them for these adventures. Although Salty, Santos, Christo and CoCo are the four key characters throughout the series, they meet new friends and acquaintances in each adventure. In many of the stories, each brother will return home with a gift he will treasure forever.
Christo and CoCo's Altantic Adventure
introduces the names of the two key characters who are central to all books in the series.
About the Author:
Cherrie Crumbie grew up in Texas and now resides with her husband in suburban Atlanta, Georgia. She refers to San Antonio and Atlanta as her two homes. Until the mid-1900s, the majority of her writings were done in the corporate arena. Then, with her first novel on the drawing table, events led her to begin work on a different type of project—one that she had never previously considered.
Departing from her focus on the novel in progress, Cherrie was inspired to attempt a short story in the juvenile category. As a result ot that impulsive moment and the desire to try sometihng different, she has dedicated her efforts to a children's adventure series. In addiditon to fabricating the stories, Cherrie elected to employ her past experience as a commercial artist and thereby create the illustrations for her books.
Cherrie is the mother of two and grandmother of three. Her leisure time is devoted to reading, movies, theater, music, travel, fashion and home design.
