The Gospel of Luke is a remarkable and much loved account of the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus from Nazareth, the long-awaited Messiah of the nation of Israel. Luke's gospel includes the narrative accounts of the annunciation of the angel Gabriel to Mary, Christ's temptation in the wilderness, his calling of the disciples, his teachings and parables, his many healings and miracles, his final journey to Jerusalem, the events of his final week, and his trial and crucifixion. Luke's gospel concludes with several important stories that give witness to the resurrection of Jesus. Luke's gospel pays particular attention to the least, lost, and last. It tells about both the disciples and the women who followed Jesus. There are a number of parables and stories that we find nowhere but in Luke.
