As a kid, with non-clinical obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in full pre-pubescent bloom, I loved scouring through the red covered Reader's Guide to Periodical Literature. I read those books more than I did the magazines, subjects, and articles cited within them. They were just so darned orderly and full of their own very specific brand of information. As I grew older, I found myself internally cataloging subjects and items of interest in my own reading, whether it was non-fiction, fiction, or comic books. As I moved on and comic books became a serious passion for me through the years, I found myself wishing I had a resource similar to the Reader's Guide that covered comic books. More than once, I had the daydream of someone from a major comic book publisher calling me up and asking me to scour through their full library and compile their issues into subject matter entries. I never could find one, so here we are now. I still read a lot of comic books, both for fun and for various occupational pursuits, and I wanted to start projecting that vast amount of reading into a format that others could rely on for research purposes or just for fun. In other words, I'm sharing my knowledge with you.
