US Deputy Marshal Dirk Sterling is tasked with the near-impossible and perilous mission of capturing Beaux Crandall, an elusive fugitive and former mogul on the FBI's most wanted list. Crandall, a mastermind of vice with charges ranging from money laundering to illegal firearms and child pornography, broke his pre-trial release conditions and disappeared without a trace. Crandall is rumored to be hiding out in a small rural town in Montana.
As Sterling delves into the case, he also grapples with a tangled web of personal relationships and unresolved emotions.
