In the floating city of Oralee, Solana lives a life without chocolate, unicorn meat, friends, and sometimes, food. Her mother has kept her locked away for most of her life, that is, until Solana's wedding day. As she walks down the aisle she decides to take a chance at freedom. Shortly after seeing his bride-to-be sail away in a mechanical whale, Terrian chases after them and is caught in an electrical storm and falls down to earth. He soon finds Solana, but with no way home he decides to stay on the island while waiting for Oralee to float back over. Solana, on the other hand, wants nothing to do with Oralee. The carnival is her home now. It has chocolate.
