ABOUT THE BOOKDaniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego were Servants and people of God, who were among the captives that King Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from the land of Judah to Babylon when God judged Judah for their sins during the reign of Jehoiakim. Zedekiah, Jehoiakim's uncle was made king by him over Judah in place of King Jehoiakim whom King Nebuchadnezzar had taken captive to Babylon. And these Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego stood for God, and were faithful to Him in the heathen land of Babylon. God also blessed them and showed Himself strong on behalf of every one of them in times of trials.
