The West Shore of Green Bay in Wisconsin is wild! We discovered many portions of the Green Bay West Shore Wildlife Area. Peaceful solitude, with many pelicans, egrets and herons, and hawks and eagles. Oh my!
Once we kayaked into Upper Michigan, beautiful sandy beaches awaited us! Some of our favorite beaches along all of the Lake Michigan shoreline. Then, Upper Michigan offers two big unbelievable bays, Little Bay de Noc and Big Bay de Noc. Both offer the Niagara Escarpment bountiful bluffs!
Although Green Bay is "just" a bay of Lake Michigan, it is still huge. The West Shore itself was over 250 miles of paddling. Seldom was it quiet and serene, most times it was breezy and wavy. Thus, I have included the kayak-able rivers in this book.
