As wild and unpredictable as its accompanying film, the

soundtrack is a pop culture tornado that somehow ends up working, despite the seeming randomness of the songs selected. Where else might one find

It doesn't make much sense on paper, but viewers will be immediately transported back into theaters, reliving key scenes with these deviously appropriate choices, from a hyperviolent dance sequence and a touching moment of brotherly love to a hilarious (blood-soaked) montage for the most hardcore comics fans and a slow-motion, love-at-first-sight moment between man and beast. Like the movie's fourth-wall-breaking anti-hero, things get meta with "The Greatest Show" (from
Hugh Jackman
's
The Greatest Showman
) and very wink-wink with "The Power of Love" (from the
Back to the Future
soundtrack). Even though
Madonna
's "Like a Prayer" doesn't appear here, dedicated listeners could easily create their own wacky playlist, which is exactly how this track list looks at first glance. As the tears start flowing to the opening chords of
Green Day
