Prayer is both one of the great blessings of the Christian's life and one of the most frustrating practices of the Christian's experience. It can be the easiest thing to do, as the words flow freely, and it can be the hardest thing to do, as you sit alone with nothing to say. It raises questions about God's sovereignty and human responsibility; it makes us wonder how much it moves God, how much it changes the world, and how much it changes us. This book cuts through the questions, issues, and difficulties Christians have with the practice of prayer. Using the deep prayer of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane as the model, you will learn why God calls you to pray, what should be your highest pursuit in prayer, and the motivation that will drive you to pray every day. You will also learn how all this can shape the way you talk to God, why you need to listen to God, and the greatest blessings of praying-even when you do not get the things you ask for.
About the Author
Steve Matteucci (pronounced Mǎ-

-chee) is a follower of Jesus Christ, a husband, a father, and now a grandfather. He has degrees in Economics (BA), Law (JD), Taxation (LL.M.), and Theology (M.Div.). He has always worked to help others solve problems, both as an estate planner, as a lay teacher and counsellor, and, for a short time, as a part-time pastor. He is a member of a small church plant in a semi-rural county in the mid-West.
