Jay Windflight is the 17-year-old general of the Feather, Flight and Freedom Fighters. She fights in this war for freedom and to preserve the constitution in the collapsing nation of America 3 years after a major war with Russia. Ten years after the death of Jay's mother and former general Dove Windflight, Jay begins to write about her life as a young soldier, a life not fit for many. Intertwined in her own story are small commentaries or chapters by her friend (and enemies) that give a fresh point of view to different matters. Jay's life is full of ups and downs, enemies and friends, new characters, danger and cliffhangers that will leave you at the edge of your seat and begging for more.
