José Sánchez Boudy nació en La Habana, Cuba, en 1928 y falleció exiliado en Miami en 2016. Se graduó de doctor en Derecho en la Universidad de La Habana. Exiliado fue profesor de Literatura Hispanoamericana en la Universidad de Puerto Rico y en la de North Carolina, Greensboro. Publicó más de 100 libros de distintos géneros literarios. Este fue su principal contribución al recoger las palabras, frases ydichos del lenguaje popular cubano, de dentro de la Isla y también del exilio cubano, en toda su historia.
José Sánchez-Boudy was born in Havana, Cuba, in 1928 and he passed away in exile in Miami in 2016. He graduated as a Doctor of Law from the University of Havana. In Exile was a professor of Hispanic American Literature at the University of Puerto Rico and at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. He published more than 100 books of different literary genres. This dictionary was his greatest contribution- in it he collects words, phrases and sayings of the popular Cuban language.
