Dressed in genuine hand-laid gold leaf, the iconic Sapin (Pine Tree) candle reveals the warm, enveloping scent of a freshly cut evergreen. The small Sapin candle shines brilliantly, as in Diptyque's holiday tale. On its label, the Maison's dancing letters mingle with a pine tree, capturing all the poetry of winter. Limited edition. A Night of Wax and Gold Once upon a time... there was “A Night of Wax and Gold”, a holiday tale by Diptyque. This year, Diptyque celebrates the season with an invitation to lose yourself in an enchanted story set in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés — spirited, wondrous, all aglow with imagination. The trio of artists behind this creation echo Diptyque's three founders: Contemporary poet Victor Pouchet created the winter tale, illustrated with surrealism and humor by Parisian illustrator and bookseller Vincent Puente. Inès Mélia, a boldly imaginative artist, works with shapes and materials to infuse a narrative dimension into poetic objets d'art that transform the narrative into tangible form. Set in a bookshop in Saint-Germain-des-Prés a few days before Christmas, the tale follows the shopkeeper and his mischievous, highly literate cat, Archibald. The pair discover a peculiar power of attraction in a small pine cone dipped in the shimmering wax of a scented candle. As the pages turn, the alchemy of the holidays unfolds... This year, the icons of winter escape from a fairy tale, adorned with surreal designs and golden motifs. Their boxes and wrapping papers become the precious pages of the tale, infused with poetry and light. This fairy tale is a celebration of enchantment, where every detail heightens the magic of the holidays. Usage: Caring for your candle. An exceptional artisanal creation, your Diptyque candle requires the greatest care. Discover how you can get the most out of every note, for as long as possible, in just a few steps. Preparing your space: to protect your surfaces, especially if they're delicate (like wood or marble), it's best to place candles on a stand. Light the candle: your journey starts here. We recommend lighting your candle with a match to avoid any risk of burning yourself. Coax out the scent: leave your candle to burn until the entire surface has turned to liquid (around 4 hours). Do not leave your candle unattended. Snuff out the flame: using a snuffer is recommended to avoid splashing hot wax. Use a wick trimmer to recenter the wick and trim it down to 5 millimeters for the best results next time you light it. Final Notes: we recommend you stop lighting your candle once the wax is only 5 millimeters thick or the metal wick sustainer becomes visible. Ventilate your space: we recommend airing out your indoor space after burning a candle.
