"Dirge of Cerberus" is set in the world of Gaia, several years after the events of "Final Fantasy VII." The game's protagonist is Vincent Valentine, a character from the original game, who becomes embroiled in a conflict involving the mysterious Deepground organization and a new threat to the world.
