The apparatus used in this experiment consisted Of 48 feet Of four - inch creosoted Douglas fir wood stave pipe, treated as described below, a round Douglas fir stave tank 3 feet in diameter and 9 feet deep. A -inch rotary circulating pump, electrically driven, and various galvanized iron connecting pipes, valves and other minor fittings.
