What happens when we die? tri-Ace's Exist Archive explores the afterlife in this tragic RPG that follows 12 youth and their journey after being killed in a mysterious explosion. More than 50 hours of gameplay unravels the mystery behind why they were granted immortality and incredible strength and forced to traverse the planet of Protolexa. Customize skills, master power-ups, and alter your party's chemistry to dominate secret bosses, explore hidden dungeons, and complete rewarding side quests. Exist Archive for the PS Vita comes from the team behind the acclaimed Valkyrie Profile. STORY It was an ordinary day in Tokyo when a series of explosions rocked the city. Kanata Kujo, his presumptive fiancé Ranze Miwakawa, and ten other unfortunate souls are caught up in the explosions and presumed missing or dead by the authorities. Kanata and Ranze, caught in a street collapse that followed one of the explosions, fall into a gaping hole and land in a subway tunnel. Dying from their injuries, Ranze's final words to Kanata were ones he never thought he'd hear– “No, I don't want to die…with you…” The next time Kanata opened his eyes, he was alone in an unknown, alien world, with neither Ranze nor his friends anywhere in sight. In the distance, a giant tower rises up into the sky…and crystal trees grow all around… “This isn't Tokyo…It's not even Earth.” “Am I…dead?” With these, amid a hundred other questions in his mind, Kanata sets off alone into this brave new world… A Word About Dungeons Make your way through dungeons by running left and right. If an action indicator appears, press the ? button to perform various actions (moving forward in dungeons, picking up items, etc.). Touching an enemy avatar will initiate battle. Pressing the R button will start Greed Mode, strengthening enemies' awareness of the Dark God and raising the chance of consecutive battles. Battle Flow Battles cycle through repeate rounds “Attack Phases” and “Guard Phases.” In Attack Phase, pressing the corresponding character buttons (? button/× button/? button/? button) will consume AP and initiate attacks, and as long as there is AP available, you can continue to attack. When you run out of AP, the Guard Phase will begin. In Guard Phase, pressing the corresponding character buttons will spend AP to defend. Battles will end by either defeating all enemies or by running away. Additionally, if everyone's HP is reduced to zero in battle, the quest will fail and you will be returned to the world map.
