Freddie is determined to stand up for what's right. Along with his friends Dougie and Mixer-and Mixer's six-year-old sister, Millie-they confront the bully known as Snake, who tests their courage at every turn.
Seeking refuge and adventure, they spend time in Grandpa's overgrown garden, planting seeds and growing vegetables. Camping overnight, they shudder with fear and excitement at the mysterious sounds in the darkness.
