Of course, nothing can remain peaceful in Gioncavallo's life. Even though he had hoped to set aside his adventuring life for something, for once, normal, he finds himself drawn into the whirlwind of trouble once again. No matter how many demons he defeats, how many corrupted popes he removes, and how many damsels in distress he saves, there's always more.
A small group of necromancers from a bigger necromancer circle has gone off the rails. Four silly nerds-though also murderers and wielders of the dark arts-try to summon a demon stronger than any of them can handle. And when it turns out that high-ranking demons have overly specific demands, they're trapped in a reverse Mexican standoff; if they pull the trigger first, they lose everything. But no one cares about the poor girl, the sacrifice that was rejected, that's caught in the battle of wills between necromancers and demon.
Except Gioncavallo, who once again puts himself in danger to save those that need saving-even if saving them means death.
