FTF is the U.S. government's global hunger and food security initiative. The overarching goal of the initiative is to accelerate progress toward the United Nation's Millennium Development Goal of halving the proportion of people living in extreme poverty and hunger by 2015. FTF pursues two paths toward this goal: (1) address the root causes of hunger that limit the potential of millions of people and (2) establish a lasting foundation for change by aligning resources with country-owned processes and sustained multistakeholder partnerships through a new country-led approach.
