When Helen graduates High School, her father lets her know that he has remarried and she must move out. She is fortunate for her BFF has called and asked if she could move to Virginia with her. While waiting for her friend to arrive, she gets caught in the river as an unexpected release from the dam comes rushing down river.
Tom is taking Conner on a book tour. They make a stop in the Hartford Tennessee where April (who Conner wrote about in Georgia's Escape) was from. While Conner is signing books, Tom goes to a riverside diner to wait. A beautiful young woman is crossing the river, and when the surge of water sweeps her feet out from under her, he has the chance to be her hero.
One kiss changes their lives. For Tom and Helen are not characters in a book, they are real people who have lives of their own. Sometimes Goddess has plans of her own though and the desires of mere mortals are not considered. When the time is right though...
