Hangman and Mora thought they would be safe when they returned to the Godless Clan after wandering lost in the dangerous wilderness for almost five years. Shadow's band-the band of Hangman's father and their whole family-might just be the most dangerous place for the wanderers-or so Hangman thinks.
He and Mora are about to discover a whole new world of danger when Mora and her children get lost in a flood and Hangman goes off alone to find them. All their struggles to survive might come to nothing and cost the whole family their lives. Hangman and Mora must tap unknown resources they've never used or even knew they had before.
