When Ashton wakes up in the Waking World, the only thing he can remember is his name. He's surrounded by strangers-other strangers with limitless magical tendencies, whose memories are also gone. Inside the world are creatures, and portals, along with the guardians that surround them. These portals are the only way out. That's till Ashton figures out he can also go back to Earth with his own magical abilities.
Ashton's caught in the crossfire of the unfinished secrets of his father's past. However, he must first battle the complications of Dr. Black and the guardians before finding out what those secrets are.
The pressure starts to grow as he falls in love, gets thrown into an insane asylum, and learns that all his new friends on the Waking World are in a coma back on Earth, and they must all be saved before the plug is pulled.
