This collection by Irish poet Patrick James features a variety of themes, with an inescapable backdrop of “Irishness” – be it emigration or religion (both Christian and Pagan): the list goes on! The subject-matter broaches on such universal (but diverse) concerns as love, hate, loneliness, joy, but veers into such contemporary / universal issues as the environment, pollution, cancer, as well as asking the question – what does the future hold for us all?
