What is the main teaching of Christianity? Is it the vicarious atonement concept, that "Jesus died for our sins" ? Or is it that "To Enter into Life, we MUST follow the Commandments, and not fall into sin" ? What did the Jesus of history actually teach, as compared to ideas generated by Saint Paul and later Church writers? The book examines the two oldest sources that have recorded Jesus' ministry ("Mark", and "Q", where "Q" is the source of sayings that Matthew and Luke have in common). Presented together as a harmony in this book, these sources give us the best idea on what the Jesus of history actually taught. They reveal a Jesus unburdened by dogmatic formulas developed after his death. The author furthermore contrasts this historical Jesus against what the Old Testament teaches about Salvation, and against what Saint Paul teaches about Salvation. What is the result? One of these teachers will be shown to be completely compliant to the Old Testament teachings, while the other will be shown to contradict it.
