The heart of the home is the kitchen. It’s where we gather...it’s where we feel a comfort...this is the “workshop” of the cook. We buy candles and oils to burn to replicate the warm, delicious smells of baking pies and cookies, but nothing is coming out of the kitchen....that is so sad. I worry for an age where we obsess about every morsel that goes in our stomachs, how many calories have been consumed, what’s the (vitamin, fat, mineral, iron, sugar, etc...etc...etc...) content until there’s no joy left...only a sad scientist looking over our shoulders stressing us out. Cookware is more important than what comes out of it. We are human beings...not foraging animals. We have lost the art of social gathering, of sharing a good piece of cake, or a warm breakfast...a hot dinner where everyone eats and discusses the day. Everyday will present some form of drama or stress...that’s guaranteed...let it go...leave it behind and enjoy your family, friends, loved ones...enjoy the meal...enjoy life. You only have so many days on this Earth...make it count.
