Humans: The most endangered species on Earth.
Hunted relentlessly for their flesh, their blood, perhaps even their very souls.
The first victim was a priest, too stricken with fear for his legs to carry him away. In less than a minute, other victims followed. Almost simultaneously, attacks began across the spinning world. Cities fell within days. With each succeeding day, witnesses to the growing horror became fewer.
One by one, humans have been set upon and brought down to face a slow and painful end.
Here and there, a rare few have survived, kept alive by will and wits. Some stay hidden as best they can. Others wander across the land as vagabonds, one step ahead of their unrelenting pursuers.
On rare occasion these survivors meet, usually to the detriment of one or the other. Sometimes desperation is set aside in favor of cooperation. Groups form and seek out others to gain strength and find solace, their never-ending fear diluted by cautious hope.
This is the story of one such group, struggling to survive in the Land of the Ravenous.
