When her mother is driven into a crippling depression, 15-year-old Bridget learns that sometimes you can cruise through life and sometimes you have to hang on for all you're worth. Calling on her estranged grandparents for roadside assistance, Bob-a close family friend she'd never heard of-rides in and transports them to the rural town of Eagle Creek, Wisconsin where secrets are hard to hide. With the support of Scott, a teen with a criminal record and Bridget's first real friend, the ultra-responsible Bridget tries to help her mother deal with her mental health while mapping out the crossroads of her own future...and is introduced to feeling truly alive and carefree for the very first time on the back of a motorcycle.
