Ash didn't have much of a childhood, his mother left before he was old enough to remember her and his father was a drunken bum, but Ash makes good. There is only one problem, he feels nothing for nobody. Ash takes off on an around the world marathon eventually hanging out with a couple of members of the Irish Republican Army only to fall head over heels in love... 'The joy of this book is the realistic account of being an itinerant worker, as many back packers are, Ash works in Greece in the Peloponnese and in Crete picking oranges and then he heads off to Israel to work on a kibbutz, there is a disastrous trip to Cairo in Egypt, the Pyramids were never like this in the glossy brochures but it all ends...well I won't tell you how it ends, buy a copy and see for yourself, a good read, I really enjoyed it.'
