She was anxious, of course, but she knew anxiety was misplaced. Her fate was foreseen. She was torn. Melody wanted to be a proper Divine, a hero the world needed. She could not reconcile the desire with the question burning her. Why did she stand here among the stars prepared to forfeit her life? This world was full of cruel, broken people. They hurt each other, they hurt nature, they hurt the planet. Even if Rovingae were stopped, there would be more just like her. What was she really dying to achieve?
With one deep, steady breath, Melody extinguished her burning questions and settled herself. She knew she had to save the souls dying to fuel Rovingae's Ethereal. She did not know if every soul was worth saving, but it did not matter. Most people were capable of being good, so they were worth saving.
