My Lady and I had grown up together, went to church together, school together, and worked in the fields together. Our families were very close. She came home with my sister one Sunday afternoon and that evening as we got in the car together to go to the evening assembly, I guess that I took her hand in mine, and since she didn't slap it away as we rode all the way to that evening assembly, I thought that she liked me. Not long after that we went to an after-church-service party with all the teens. We played a game called 'Spin the bottle' and when it pointed at her the two of us went on a walk down the road. On the way back, under a bright, beautiful moon I kissed her and I knew that she was mine. Neither of us ever dated anyone else and on July 24, 1958 we became man and wife at my parent's home at Herman Junction. It was the greatest day of my earthly life. I cannot describe how much we loved each other.
This book consists of some things I learned during the four years and six months after her Alzheimer's diagnosis. This is nothing like a deep study of things, just a day-to-day journey with the devils disease.
If it is helpful to anyone, I am thankful.
