Dieser Nationalismus, der seit den 1890er Jahren vor allem von Agitationsverbanden wie dem Alldeutschen Verband, dem Ostmarken- und dem Flottenverein propagiert wurde, war ein qualitativ neuartiges Phanomen und ein wichtiger Katalysator fur die weitere Entwicklung des Nationalismus in Deutschland.
