Since childhood I have loved nursery rhymes. As I age and stitch textile collages with embroidery, nursery rhymes have inspired me all over again.
Sometimes I make up a rhyme; I have occasionally changed words. Many of these collages were made during the pandemic when we were quite isolated. Designing and stitching was helpful in surviving. There is something about keeping hands active that keeps the mind alive and the days more fulfilling.
My heritage did not excel in humor, but I think humor sneaks into my work with nursery rhymes. May this book bring you smiles.
